The Watchmen Watch
by Betty Anne Casaretti
The Watchmen watch both night and day
A divine assignment for each day
As morning breaks
The trumpet sounds
The watchman wakes
In readiness, he is found
His steps are forward armor clad
He hears the Call, “Watch for all”
His senses heighten by God’s embrace
Strength in purpose filled with grace
Above, below from left to right
This territory floods his sight
Each movement noted each sound is heard
In silence still, a Word unfurled
“Where you stand is Holy ground,
My Kingdom come, My will abound
This place where you walk in My Authority
I have prepared you now to see”
Again a whisper in my ear
“You must listen, you must hear…
Things seem hidden in the night
Yet much is seen through moon light bright
Now see the false amongst the right”
What is seen, you must say
Intercede to show the Way
The Watchmen watch both night and day
A divine assignment for each day
“Now, son of man, I am making you a watchman for the people of Israel.
Therefore listen to what I say and warn them for Me.” Ezekiel 33:7
“When the watchman sees the enemy coming he sounds the alarm to warn the people.” Ezekiel 33:3
