Blessings Watchmen, Prayer Warriors, Intercessors, Saints,
The preaching below is very, very thought provoking. Being challenged in this current environment is good and matures us. It brings us deeper into intimacy with the Lord and His ways on being the Light of Christ in this world. It is a confusing time. As we go deeper, we learn the nation and governmental ways of our God, Father, Son, Holy Spirit. The book by RT Wright and Michael Bird plus today’s preaching of Chris Reed (see links below) gave me a refined deeper knowledge and understanding of how God works and how we respond as followers of Jesus Christ. The two, the book and preaching, are not necessarily in agreement on lesser issues. The definition of nationalism is different. Some Christian leaders refine the definition by splitting nationalism and patriotism. But then again that sometimes is cultural and Biblical interpretation differences which does not mean either is invalid. They are much more in agreement then not. It causes us to ponder and think on the scriptures. Both are valuable in the refining process of scripture and add value to the knowledge and understanding of the Lord’s ways.
One of things I heard consistently by the Spirit during these two weeks of chaos, lawlessness and rioting on the college campuses was: The anti-Semitist protesting and yelling on the campuses “we are hamas” proved and confirmed their words by their behavior of hatred, destruction and lawlessness. This is sin and evil. Repentance and reconciliation.
Christ in us the hope of Glory.

Jesus and the Powers: Christian Political Witness in an Age of Totalitarian Terror and Dysfunctional Democracies
An urgent call for Christians everywhere to explore the nature of the kingdom amid the political upheaval of our day.
Should Christians be politically withdrawn, avoiding participation in politics to maintain their prophetic voice and to keep from being used as political pawns? Or should Christians be actively involved, seeking to utilize political systems to control the levers of power?
In Jesus and the Powers, N. T. Wright and Michael F. Bird call Christians everywhere to discern the nature of Christian witness in fractured political environments. In an age of ascending autocracies, in a time of fear and fragmentation, amid carnage and crises, Jesus is king, and Jesus’s kingdom remains the object of the church’s witness and work.
Part political theology, part biblical overview, and part church history, this book argues that building for Jesus’s kingdom requires confronting empire in all its forms. This approach should orient Christians toward a form of political engagement that contributes to free democratic societies and vigorously opposes political schemes based on autocracy and nationalism. Throughout, Wright and Bird reflect on the relevance of this kingdom-oriented approach to current events, including the Russian-Ukraine conflict, the China-Taiwan tension, political turmoil in the USA, UK, and Australia, and the problem of Christian nationalism.
